Lesley’s career had mainly consisted of a five year contract with Mercury Records, which was set to run out in spring of 1968. Prior to this, she had had boyfriends, and was on course to get married, simply because she had never had the time to truly examine her feelings. During her time at Sarah Lawrence, she came to the realization that she was a lesbian. She studied British and American English literature, and graduated in 1968.
